Congress Dialing For Dollars

The business of the people to be conducted by members of congress, has become a congressional work program to support the media (newspapers, television and radio), and the paid members of campaign staffs.

Essentially, congress works to support them, not take care of the business of citizens. Issues such as immigration, national security, jobs, etc. will have to wait.

What we have here is a failure of ETHICS, which lawyers and judges say is not illegal. No further elaboration necessary.

Stormy Weather

Sports and politics or the weather, it’s storming time. Maybe it will become normal soon, maybe not. This site is about exactly that.

Really! What has happened in the world of politics? It seems a lot like the end of the fourth quarter in football, where the team in the lead gives ground to the oncoming underdog. And, far too often that slack results in a loss! What kind of strategy is that?

Extend that to politics and you have a loss at the end of every election term.

I’m having a beer and eating some pizza while dreaming up some critical comment on government. It is unlikely Washington has the spine to do what is right. Donald Trump is shaking the trees and the monkeys are climbing to higher ground.

All the wise guys are suggesting Trump is in it just for the show. Actually, they are hoping that is the case. Why? Because if he keeps speaking the truth out loud, they won’t know what to do . . . they can’t hide forever!

Dynamics and Momentum in Politics and War: “The threshold is crossed.”

Background - Global Failure: Apprehension, Criticism and Restraint published on August 8, 2014 outlines the situation.

Note: The Paris tragedy has initiated long overdue cooperation between nations of Europe to "stand-up" and take a responsible position. For too long, the United States has been the primary protector of freedom.

Yes, Europe has contributed to past efforts, however, needed to take a position of primary influence in international defense affairs. As a result of the U.S. delay and apprehension in taking action, Europe now senses the danger of not being ever-present.

The status of affairs within and between nations is dependent on the dynamics of personal interests of those controlling the assets. Significant among these assets are political, financial, trade and military resources.

Momentum, the direction of a driving force, internal or external, represents the predictability of affairs between nations. Momentum must change before the direction of affairs will change.

For momentum to change, an external influence is necessary. There must be some real or perceived threat to the status of the political, financial, trade and military resources of those controlling the assets.

Acknowledgement of internal or external influences and threats can occur slowly over a protracted period of months or years. Acknowledgement can also occur in a matter of minutes or days given the enormity or severity of an action.

Current influences representing real or perceived threats are:

Domestic and international terrorism in the form of harm to citizens, governments and their assets.

Domestic and international funding and investment in activities, commercial or philanthropic, which limit societal integration and adherence to established national doctrine.

Legal decisions which undermine or supplant established national doctrine.

Restricting or removing the individual rights, liberties and freedoms of citizens established by national doctrine.

Unauthorized acquisition of proprietary information, digital or written, of legal entities or citizens of the nation.

The list goes on:

Support for threats can be interpreted by failure to acknowledge and correct them, or via ignorance, stupidity and idiocy, allowing them.

Failure to take appropriate action may be interpreted as treachery, disloyalty, subversion, betrayal, and duplicity. Such failure may be for personal gain of a temporary nature.

Global Failure: Apprehension, Criticism and Restraint

Without question, President Obama is faced with an international situation where the European Union has become lax in support of freedom and personal rights for their own citizens, in favor of interlopers.

Ever since WWI, Europe has relied on the United States stepping up as the guarantor of freedom by putting down tyrants. Every time this is necessary, the cost to the United States is in the form of blood and treasure.

There is no restitution of value for losses. This has become the BIG EXPECTATION of the United States. Restitution has become criticism from the nations protected, while they exercise restraint in taking action, even to protect their own interests, less they trample on the demands of interlopers.

Many have criticized President Obama for being indecisive and conservative to the point of appearing naive. The world is asking the question “When will the United States take action?” The question should be “Where the hell is everyone else?” Oh, yes, it’s the BIG EXPECTATION!

From the perspective of integrity and honor, most countries are failing internationally. At the same time, internally, the same countries are disintegrating morally, culturally and ethically.

The difference between China, North Korea, Germany, Russia, Iran, Syria, and Lebanon (as an example) in respect to moral, honorable and humane action, may not be so significant. Oh, there would be much noise about that statement, but little sustaining positive action.

President Obama should not just talk with foreign leaders, but demand they take an open position and support freedom and the rights of citizens outside their own borders.

Stop wimping and wining about it. Out of the shadows and into the sunlight. Not just words and sentiment, but action. There are no half measures, except in losing.

Never Forget

This is a standing post regarding our responsibilities as citizens. The Constitution and Bill of Rights provide a foundation for the American Family of which we are all members. As such, we are expected to support and defend them to ensure every member of our family is supported and treated with dignity.

Cyber Crime: Credit Cards and Fraud

Here is a little background on a security issue that may affect you, and it’s important that you are aware of it.

You don’t need to become an expert in the subject, just be aware the larger data systems get . . . they are proving the experts wrong regarding the security of your personal and business information.

The following may shed some light on the subject. It’s a lot like “we’ll have to try it to see how it really works” or “If you like your security . . . maybe you can keep it!”

The Mammoth Momentum Problem: The Fiscal Cliff

Everyone loves a winner! When looking for a group or issue to support it is common for joiners to assume that the group or issue with the most followers, or making the most noise, is where joiners want to be . . . why go against the crowd?

Joiners become believers, even without an understanding of the underlying principles (cultural dynamics, laws, regulations, scientific evidence), and even ignore their own academic knowledge and personal experience to become a member of the group. Everyone loves a winner!

Frequently momentum in a specific direction by a group or issue is created when the principles which should be applied to evaluate the group or issue are overlooked . . . given cursory credit, and then supported by some unsuspecting or unqualified major figurehead or media source.

A mammoth momentum problem is created when the group or issue has succeeded in advancing to the extreme of a direction . . . a place which may seem as a point of infinity . . . where it can go no further without withdrawing to a previous safe place.

“Advance too far out from the trunk of the tree . . . and the branch will bend to the ground or finally break . . . leaving the adventurous on the ground where they started!”

On the way down, some will change direction and return to a safer place before ending up in the mud . . . others will blindly follow to the end. Upon reaching the mud, no one will be found to claim ownership of the issue.

For the fortunate, the mammoth momentum problem is a full-circle experience which leads back to the time honored principles of true liberty, democracy, leadership and commerce. For the unfortunate . . . fortune and existence is the past . . . it can be read about but not experienced.

Examples of recent mammoth momentum problems:

1978 Congress: Deregulation of banking and elimination of the upper limit on interest rates. Led to banks speculating in development of commercial real estate and repeated financial crises.

2000 Congress: Transferring control of U.S. Trade to the World Trade Organization via establishing China as permanent normal trade relations (PNTR) partner. Establishment of the subprime mortgage process. Led to escalating trade imbalance and loss of over 10 million jobs, $20 trillion in GDP, and $10 trillion in lost tax revenues.

2008 Congress: The Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) to purchase equity from financial institutions to strengthen the financial sector as a result of the subprime mortgages. Led to loss of investors equity in homes, savings interest, and retirement program assets.

The Mammoth Momentum Problem was created by the U.S. government in Washington with the assistance and influence of international socialist governments which have themselves ventured too far out on the limb.

Result: An International Fiscal Cliff

Some would say this is the result of trying it their way . . . that is the way of business and industry . . . when in reality, it is the way of a socialist movement . . . a government. A government led by joiners wanting to enjoy the attention of being seen as a winner, even if following a false assumption. Winning can be losing.

They are on the way to the mud and taking all the citizens with them . . . it is an irrefutable fact of their academic knowledge and personal experience. The question is – “Will they walk back on the branch or hit the mud?”

Throughout history advisors have given false direction to unsuspecting or unqualified major figureheads and media sources. Why you ask? They are false prophets drinking the wine of celebration. They can be seen after-the-fact stating “They do not recall” or “They did not see it coming” . . . all the while knowing the ending would destroy the dreams of the citizens. They are false prophets, they mislead congress and are frequently members of congress.

This fiscal cliff is the result of unbalanced trade and social transfer of funds rather than maintaining the interests of the U.S. first.

The unsuspecting and unqualified have been put forward as shields for the movements of others.

Howard K Smith, TV Newscaster: When the news was the news.

"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." (Edmund Burke)
History of a true reporter and editor:

Howard Kingsbury Smith: American journalist, radio reporter, television anchorman, political commentator, and film actor. He was one of the original Edward R. Murrow boys. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

During his last broadcast, Smith stated “No one person can change the direction of a nation.” His comment was in relation to individuals and groups attempting to, through violence and intimidation, tear down the democracy and install a new form of governance. It could be said that not much has changed since the period of 1960 – 1970s.

At the time of Mr. Smith’s last broadcast the country was at the end of the Vietnam conflict. The political scene and public demonstrations had been quite destructive of the concept of objective government, responsibility and accountability. Demonstrations included burning of banks and police vehicles, shooting of judges in court and about anything imaginable.

The response from the public and government at large was to back-off from activists being held accountable for their destructive actions.

Banking: A Government Casino Game

The U.S. achieved prosperity through open competition.

During the past 25 plus years, unbalanced government trade actions have resulted in off-shoring significant productive and service sector activities and the loss of millions of jobs.

The loss of jobs has resulted in a reduction of taxes and fees collected at all levels of government and lead to significant layoffs in education and other fields of public service.

When the cost of unemployment insurance payments and other support provided by the government is added to the resultant trade deficit, the real cost of imported products and services can exceed the cost of domestically produced products and services.
